When you are about to compare…don’t.

When you are about to compare...don't.

When you are about to compare yourself with someone else, don’t.

When you are about to look at her photos one more time to find out who is more beautiful, don’t.

When you are about to feel hatred towards her because she has what you don’t have, don’t.

When you are about to compare, don’t.

When you need to constantly look at her Instagram page to remind yourself of the successes you haven’t achieved, don’t.

When you are about to see if the other person as something bigger or better than you do, don’t.

When you are about to look again at what she’s doing just to remind yourself of where you haven’t yet gotten to, don’t.

When you are about to compare, don’t.

When you are about to compare yourself with her, remember you are uniquely created by God.

Remember you are perfectly made by God and your journey is unique to you.

When you are about to compare, don’t.

I wrote the above poem out of necessity. This thing has been burning in my heart to put it into writing. Sometimes we get tempted to compare ourselves with others, we get tempted to look at other people’s journey as a yardstick for the moves and steps we take.

Rather than doing that, we should remember that God has made us and His plans for us twhich He has already mapped out is unique and shouldn’t be compared with other people’s own.

When we compare, we get bitter. When we compare, we forget what God has done and is doing for us and we focus on what other people are doing.

Remember:

Comparison doesn’t make anything better,

it makes us bitter.

Comparison doesn’t inspire,

it makes one wrongly apsire.

Comparison has no good.

Don’t forget to share this post! Thank you.

  1. What you see on the surface isn’t always what it really is. Often times people have to cosmetically make themselves look good because their heart is so ugly.

Keep a beautiful heart and let IT manifest into a beautiful, bigger and better everything else!

    Great post!

  2. Great post and also, very relevant one. We often find ourselves in situations when we start comparing ourselves to others. But the truth is, it is only destructive and it doesn’t bring us closer to achieving our goals.
